The use of this drug should also be avoided if there are babies or children and people with asthma at home.
  3. Placing a mosquito net around the bed can be a safe mosquito barrier, especially for infants and toddlers.

Sometimes when in a certain place, such as a garden or traditional market even at home, mosquito bites become unavoidable. Even so, you can still work around this in simple ways.

  1. Apply anti-mosquito lotion. Use anti-mosquito lotions or drugs according to the instructions, especially when applying to children. Use an anti-mosquito lotion containing picaridin / KBR 3023, DEET, and lemon eucalyptus oil. The content makes mosquitoes unable to identify yourself as a prey. However, immediately wash your hands after use. This needs to be done to avoid eye irritation and contamination of food consumed by hand. In addition, avoid using these lotions in children under three years of age, pregnant women, and nursing mothers. Avoid using anti-mosquito lotion on the face.
  2. Telon oil: This traditional oil contains fennel, eucalyptus and coconut oil. Fennel oil can prevent mosquito bites for up to 2 hours. Kayuputih oil has a smell similar to eucalyptus and tea tree oil is also said to prevent insect bites such as mosquitoes.

  4.  Always close the car window if you are in several places at risk of being bitten by mosquitoes.
  5. Avoid scratching when the skin is bitten by a mosquito. When you scratch, it can cause the skin to become injured and open, allowing bacteria to enter and cause infection. Clean the skin with soft soap and warm water, apply an ointment containing hydrocortisone or antihistamines, or calamine lotion to reduce itching.
  6. Anti-mosquito bracelet. This tool is not proven effective for protecting the skin from mosquito bites. From the research that has been done, the best effect of preventing mosquito bites is obtained from anti-mosquito lotions which are applied directly to the skin.
To help monitor the cleanliness of the environment and check mosquito larvae, the government appealed to each house to have a Jumantik (larva monitor). In addition to using mosquito repellent facilities, the key to avoiding insect bites is to maintain the cleanliness of the house and surrounding environment regularly. And do not forget to protect the skin from mosquito bites in several ways above.
